Paul Laycock B.App.Sc (RT) QCAH.

 

Paul is the driving force behind High Country Droughtmasters success.

 

With a lifelong passion for cattle breeding and production and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to business management, marketing and client relationships, he has seen his vision come to fruition.

 

He strives to exceed our clients expectations and ensure they have success with High Country Genetics.

 

Paul is the current President of the Droughtmaster Association.

Lisa Laycock BVSc (hons) B.App.Sc (RT)

 

Lisa brings experience both as a Veterinarian and member of the Australian Cattle Veterinarians as well as years working as an Animal Nutritionist.

 

She sees on a daily basis the importance of fertility, nutrition, health and structural soundness and their effects on a breeding enterprises profitability.

 

An advocate for forage based nutrition for gut, joint and hoof health,  morphology testing, DNA analysis and producing healthy, practical cattle with longevity.

 

Steph Laycock

 

Currently studying Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness at University, Steph's passion for cattle and beef production is palpable.

 

She is the brains behind our pedigrees, breedplan recording, genetics and breeding decisions, initial selection criteria and is our walking database for everything High Country.

 

We have no doubt that her love of the industry and desire to see High Country Droughtmasters grow even further and flourish will see her a pivotal member of the team for the forseeable future.

Lachlan Young

 

Lachlan is integral in the success of our stud. He too is studying Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness.

 

A keen interest for everything to do with the inner workings and day to day farm management.

 

He excels at managing the farming/agronomy side of the business. He places a high emphasis on forage production, pasture improvement and hay and silage production and is excellent at making sure our equipment is maintained and runs smoothly.

Matt Petty

 

Matt has lifelong experience in the cattle industry, with a love of stud breeding.

 

He is responsible for the husbandry, planning and preparation of both our show and sale team.

 

His eye for detail, calm manner and natural affinity for working with cattle has seen us implement low stress cattle handling techniques.

 

His wealth of experience can see Matt turn his hand to whatever is happening on the farm, an integral part of our team.

Michael Laycock

 

Currently studying hard in his senior year of high school, Michael has a keen eye for cattle selection and when not studying, is involved in all aspects of the stud herd.

 

His interest in business and management will be well utilised in the future in terms of property management and growth of the stud.
